MHP Hotel AG Assumes Operation of Andaz Vienna am Belvedere, by Hyatt // Rebranding to Hyatt Regency Vienna from Spring 2026

Vienna / Munich,  February 2nd, 2026 – MHP Hotel AG has today taken over the operation of the Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere under a new franchise agreement with an affiliate of Hyatt. The hotel will be rebranded and operated under the internationally established Hyatt Regency brand by April  2026. MHP Hotel AG is pleased to collaborate with both Hyatt and WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH, a company of DekaBank, who acquired ownership of the property at the same time. This franchise agreement  strengthens MHP’s positioning in the premium segment of urban business hotels and forms part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

The hotel, featuring 303 rooms including 44 suites, is located in close proximity to Belvedere Palace in Vienna’s 10th district. Opened in 2019, the building was designed by the Vienna-based architectural firm Archisphere and forms part of a larger urban development project at Schweizergarten. Its architectural design references the heritage of the neighboring Belvedere Palace and its builder, Prince Eugene of Savoy, who played a central role in Vienna’s cultural history as a patron of the arts and military commander.

The transition from the lifestyle brand Andaz to the Hyatt Regency brand – part of Hyatt’s Classics portfolio known for timeless style and exceptional care – reflects the repositioning of the property. With more than 2,000 square meters of event space —including a grand ballroom and numerous meeting rooms — the hotel is geared towards business guests, conferences, and events. The Hyatt Regency brand has nearly five decades of strong, trusted reputation among business travelers and in the organization of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), including large-scale events.

Dr. Jörg Frehse, CEO of MHP Hotel AG, emphasizes: “With the hotel’s rebranding as Hyatt Regency Vienna, we are guiding the property into a new phase of development while ensuring continuity for guests and partners. We are delighted to welcome Hyatt as another strong brand  at our side—an important step in the expansion of our international brand portfolio.”

Hyatt also welcomes the future partnership with MHP Hotels. Michel Morauw, Managing Director, EAME North, Hyatt, states: “The operational transition of the hotel, together with MHP Hotel AG, is aligned with Hyatt’s EMEA expansion strategy in collaboration with experienced and trusted franchiseowners and operators. Under the Andaz brand, the hotel has become a staple in the city in just six years, and in this new chapter under the Hyatt Regency brand – and with the support of a franchise operator  focused on quality, brand integrity, and long-term value creation like MHP – we have no doubt that the best pages of the hotel’s  story are still to be written.”

The hotel will remain open throughout the management and brand transition period. As part of a structured business transfer, all current team members will be offered continued employment with MHP Hotel AG. All existing reservations, event bookings, and ongoing contracts will also be assumed to ensure a seamless transition for guests and business partners.

From a legal perspective, MHP was advised in connection with the transaction by WMWP Rechtsanwälte GmbH, Vienna, Jung & Schleicher Rechtsanwälte, Berlin, and GSK Stockmann, Munich. IBCOL Real Estate, Munich, supported the transaction on the tenant’s side by conducting a technical due diligence.
